Charlie Chaplin was born in London England on April 16, 1889. His father, a drinker, left Chaplin, his mother and his older half-brother, Sydney. That left Chaplin and his brother alone with his mother, music hall singer who went by the stage name Lily Harley. Lily who would after suffer severe mental issues and had to be sent to an asylum, still was able to raise her kids for a few years. But in a performance that would introduce her youngest boy to the world. Hannah lost her voice unexpectedly in the middle of a show, prompting the stage manager to push the five-year-old Chaplin, which he'd heard sing, onto the stage to replace her. Chaplin lit up the audience. Her singing voice never returned and she ran out of money and could not take care of her children. So, Chaplin and Sydney had to make a new, home for themselves in London's tough cities

In 1941 Chaplin made his film debut one-reeler called Make a Living. Charlie played the role of "The Little Tramp" Therefore, Little Tramp was born. In over a year he showed up in 35 movies. Tillie's Punctured Romance, was his first full-length comedy. In the 1915 he left Mark and joined the Essanay Company which payed him 1,250 dollars per week. During this year Charlie created 14 films. Throughout his succesful moviestar days, he became known as a perfecionsit. In 1918 he married a 16- year old Mildred Harris. This marriage only lasted two years. Then in 1924, he married another 16 year old named Lita Grey who was a actress. This marrige brought him two children. They broke up in 1927. In 1936 Charlie married someone again, this realtionship last eight years. In 1943, he again married a 18 year old women named Oona. The outcome was they lived a happy realtionship.
Charlie kept creating intersting films throughout his later life. He realsed one of his movies called City Lights which was a sucess. His outher movie Mordern Time, a commernatry about the state of the world's ecnonmiy. This film didn't have the "The Little Tramp" character. Later, Chaplin took a 18 month world tour. During his tour he saw econmic angst and a rise in nationlism in Europe and other places. Charlie's moive The Great Dictator really showed something to his audience. He said "I'm just a human being who wants to see this country a real democracy..." Yet, Charlie waws a target of the right wing conservatives. He then later was deporated to Switzerland. Close to the end of his life, Chaplin made on last trip to the U.S. in 1972 in which he won a sepical Academy Award from the Motion Picture Academy. Then, in the morning of December 25, 1977 Charlie was dead in his home in Switerzland. His wife Oona and his seven kids were by his side. Later on Charlie's body was stolen after it was burried. The men who did this were arrested.
